Restoration and Refinishing of a Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson English Solid Oak Smoking Chair, Circa 1930. 

Shown above are images of the chair's condition prior to restoration. The first step in the process was refinishing the wood to restore the solid English oak back to its original glory. The next step was meticulously taking apart the seat cushion. Then, all of the original leather was cleaned and repeatedly reconditioned to bring it back to life and help protect it from future damage and wear. Finally, the disintegrating foam in the seat cushion was removed and replaced and carefully hand sewn back together.
